IRNA � Iranian and Turkish officials in a meeting held in Istanbul stressed the significance of strengthening solidarity and unity among Islamic Ummah.


The meeting was partaken by Iran's Ambassador to Ankara Mohammad-Ebrahim Taherianfard and senior Turkish Shia cleric, Sheikh Salahuddin Ozgunduz .

During the meeting, the two sides held talks on Tehran-Ankara ties, developments in the Middle East region and the issue of Syria.

For his part, the Iranian ambassador hailed the activities the Shia Muslims do along with their other Muslim brothers to preserve unity among the Islamic nations and the region as well.

Ozgunduz, too, appreciated Iran's Embassy in Turkey for providing good services for promotion of bilateral relations.
