Commander: IRGC Ground Force to strengthen airborne, drone power

FNA- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Brigadier General Hossein Salami announced plans by the IRGC Ground Force to further enhance its airborne and drone units.

"The IRGC Ground Force is trying to grow all the components of its power, including the airborne, drone and electronic war (systems), and the Ground Force has had considerable growth in gathering information from distance areas," General Salami said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran on Monday.

He also stressed that the IRGC Ground Force enjoys high air and missile capabilities, adding that its forces have also achieved many experiences in Syria, Iraq (as military advisors) and Northwestern and Southeastern parts of Iran and are fully updated.

Last February, the IRGC Ground Force established an organization specialized in using drones in military operations.

We have set up a drone center and organization, which has bases in operational areas, and is currently active, Commander of the IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said.

The IRGC Ground Force possesses and has used various state-of-the-art military equipment, including combat drones, in different maneuvers showcasing the countrys defense prowess.
