IRNA � The Asian Parliamentary Assembly could foster synergy across the continent, said Iran Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, describing Asia as a zone of stability and security.

'All eyes are on Asia today and its stability remains to be of high importance,' Larijani told reporters upon arrival in Tehran on Thursday after his visit to Turkey to attend the 10th meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly launched on Wednesday.

The issue of security was discussed during the meeting and participants proposed mechanisms for promoting further synergy in security issues in the region, he said.

'Another issue discussed in the meeting was the issue of Palestine,' he added.

Larijani also said that regarding the fight against terrorism and the role played by Iran to defeat Daesh (ISIS) terrorists in Syria and Iraq, all the parties in the meeting were of the view that event like this could be a good venue for addressing issues like terrorism as well.
