MNA The third round of negotiations between Iran and the European Union will be held in Isfahan under the heading of Nuclear cooperation; Progresses and Prospects.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Behrouz Kamalvandi, Spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), and Helga Schmid, Deputy to the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini are among the top participants of the third round of negotiations between Iran and the European Union.

The two day meeting, under the theme of Nuclear cooperation; Progresses and Prospects, will open on Monday in Iranian historic city of Isfahan.

Back in early October, Schmid, the Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), told the media that European countries will do their utmost to preserve the nuclear deal despite misgivings by US President Donald Trump.

After the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the nuclear agreement between Iran and 5+1 group of countries signed in July 14, 2015, was put into effect early in 2016, Iran and European Union defined their new cooperation in the framework of high-ranking level dialogues which so far two rounds of them have been held in Brussels and Tehran.

Human rights, trade, financial and banking cooperation, environment, fight against narcotics, and international issues like the regional crises of Syria, Iraq, and Yemen are the areas to be touched upon at the event.

The JCPOA has removed the barriers obstructing international cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the third annex of the JCPOA mandates other countries to expand cooperation with Iran in the area of peaceful nuclear energy.
