FNA - Senior aide to the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Asqar Zare'an announced that the AEOI experts have acquired the technology to build atomic batteries.

"Iran has joined the club of countries which produce nuclear battery by attaining this technology," Zare'an told reporters in the Western city of Shahr-e Kord on Saturday.


Noting that necessary tests have been conducted on the Iran-made atomic batteries which have been produced using nanotechnology, he said commercialization of the product is underway and the product will be produced at industrialized scale by the end of this Iranian year (to end on March 20).


Atomic�battery (nuclear battery, tritium�battery and radioisotope generator) are used to describe a device which uses energy from the decay of a radioactive isotope to generate electricity.


Like�nuclear�reactors, they generate electricity from atomic energy, but differ in that they do not use a chain reaction.
