IRNA � The anti-Iran remarkes by the US President Donald Trump were 'nonsense', Tehran interim Friday Prayers leader Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said.


Addressing a huge crowd of worshippers and the faithful in Tehran, he senior cleric said, 'nothing more is expected from Trump.'

'We should be vigilance regarding the Trump recent remarks to comprehend what the main point is,' he said.

'The bullying powers cannot tolerate the Islamic Revolution in Iran and deem it as a threat to their looting and deceitful policies in the world,' said the major cleric.

'In the first years of the Islamic Revolution, we didn't have nuclear activities, missiles or regional influence, but they were against this new phenomenon of divine authority which was beginning to be established in the Islamic Republic of Iran,' he said.

US President Donald Trump on Oct 13 took a new strategy toward Iran and decertified Tehran's commitment to the 2015 landmark nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Trump's approach has been criticized by many countries, international bodies, political communities and world media.

'Iran nuclear deal is not a bilateral accord and it belongs to no country and no country is able to terminate it,' High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said minutes after Trump's speech.

Meanwhile, the Iranian President Hassan Rounani in a televised message shortly after Trump's speech said his remarks were 'nothing but a handful of baseless and empty allegations against the Iranian nation.
