Iranian diplomatic delegation in Kabul to pursue bilateral deals

IRNA Two Iranian foreign ministers deputies arrived in Kabul late on Saturday at the head of a diplomatic delegation to pursue implementation of bilateral agreements with Afghanistan.


Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi as well as deputy for Asia and Pacific Affairs Mohammad Ebrahim Rahimpour are heading the 15-member delegation with deputy energy minister for water and wastewater Rahim Meidani accompanying them.

Iran and Afghanistan have set up five joint commissions to draw up a long-term cooperation document, which was finalized in Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarifs daylong visit to Kabul on May 7.

During the trip, both sides agreed upon establishment of specialized committees in a bid to finalize the long-term cooperation document, leading to setting up five committees aimed at following up all related issues for initial pursuance.

Iranian delegation Saturday's trip aims to execute the results of the five committees discussions.

The delegation comprises legal, political, military, consular and security experts.
