Russia registers 10 Syrian ceasefire violations over past 24 hours

Sputnik News- The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that a total of 19 ceasefire violations were registered in Syria in the past 24 hours.

The Russian side to the Russian-Turkey Commission on the Syrian truce registered 10 ceasefire violations over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded 9 cases, most of them in the territories under the terrorists control, the Russian Defense Ministry said Monday.

"Situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable. Within last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 10 cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), Latakia (5), and Damascus (3). The Turkish party has registered 9 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus (6) and Hama (3)," the ministrys Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a daily bulletin.

The highest number of cases of unselective firing from small arms has been registered in the territories under the control of terrorists from Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra terror groups (both outlawed in Russia), the document added.

"Within last 24 hours, the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides held 4 humanitarian actions. Three actions were held in the Aleppo city. Civilians received 3.6 tons of drinking water. One action was held in Jaba in the al-Quneitra province. Civilians received 1.5 tons of sets with food products. Total weight of humanitarian cargo reached 5.1 tons," the bulletin continued.

As part of the humanitarian actions, the aid was received by 1,602 people while the medical assistance was provided by the specialists of the Russian center to 290 Syrians, according to the statement.

The United Nations also held a humanitarian actions in the course of the past 24 hours, delivering 21 tons of humanitarian aid to the area of Deir ez-Zor with the help of the aviation of Russias Abakan Air company. The international organization and its partners continued providing assistance and temporary accommodation to the Syrian civilians, the statement said.

The bulletin added that in the course of the past 24 hours, three ceasefire agreements with the representatives of the inhabited areas in Syrias Idlib province had been signed making the total number of inhabited areas joining the truce 2,025. The talks on joining the ceasefire have been continued by the Russian centers specialists in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama, Idlib and Al Qunaitra, according to the statement.
The number of armed formations claiming to observe the truce regime currently stays at 228, the document concluded.

The civil war in Syria between the government and various opposition and terror groups has been raging since 2011. Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Apart from this, in the course of the war, Moscow has been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against the terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
