Iranian Armys Ground Forces to test new indigenous missiles: Cmdr.
A senior Iranian commander says the Ground Forces of Irans Army will test-fire new indigenous missiles in upcoming military exercises in central Iran.
The second-in-command of the Armys Ground Forces Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari said on Wednesday that the new domestically developed missiles will be launched in the week-long drill due to be held in Isfahan Province in June.

The top commander underlined that Iranian defense experts have designed and produced the missiles to counter potential threats against the country.

Over the past few years, Iran has held several maneuvers to enhance the defense capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment.

In March, the Iranian Armys Ground Forces launched a three-day drill, codenamed Khatam al-Anbia, in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, during which new indigenous missiles were test-launched.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured other nations, especially its neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
