IRNA - Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for Saudi Arabia today to help resolve the recent diplomatic crisis among PGCC countries.

During the one-day visit, the PM will hold discussions with senior officials of Saudi Arabia on the ongoing crisis involving Qatar and Saudi Arabia and other Arab states.
The premier will be accompanied by foreign affairs adviser Sartaj Aziz, among other officials.

Reports say the prime minister may also make stopovers in other Persian Gulf nations involved in the crisis, including Qatar. Some reports also claim that Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa will also accompany the prime minster during the visit.

Before his departure, the premier is expected to address a conference of Pakistan ambassadors to PGCC countries, being held by Islamabad to mull Pakistan's response to the crisis.

Earlier during a media talk on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Kazakhstan, Nawaz Sharif had stressed that Pakistan enjoys good relations with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and will try its best to resolve the differences between the Arab countries.

The Parliament of Pakistan in a resolution had also advised the government to take concrete steps towards forging unity amongst the Muslim Ummah and urged all countries in the region to show restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue.

Last week, Saudi Arabia, along with Egypt, Bahrain and UAE, cut off all ties with Qatar.
