Tasnim � Deputy foreign ministers from Iran and Russia in a meeting in Moscow discussed a range of issues, including coordinating bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Iran�s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour and his Russian counterpart Igor Vladimirovich Morgulov met in Moscow on Tuesday for talks on the latest status of interaction between the two countries.

Expressing satisfaction with the enhancement of Iran-Russia cooperation in political, economic, regional and international arenas, the two diplomats hailed an 80-percent increase in the bilateral trade volume.

They also talked about reciprocal visits by ranking officials of the two countries and documents planned to be signed in future meetings.

The deputy foreign ministers also voiced Iran and Russia�s resolve to boost cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Iran and Russia have formed a strong alliance in recent years, with both supporting the Syrian government against foreign-backed militancy.

Tehran and Moscow insist that the Syrian nation is the only side that has the right to shape the future of the Arab country, which has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.
