February 15, The Iran Project � A member of Iran�s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee�has stressed that Saudi Arabia strengthens improper diplomatic behavior, such as Takfiri ideology, however, Tehran-Riyadh relations should be restablished in order to send Iranian pilgrims to Hajj rituals.

Speaking to a reporter on Wednesday, Valiollah Nanvakenari�emphasized that Saudis are seeking to boost Takfiri ideology in the region, and affect revolutionary forces in the world to destroy the greatness of revolutionary ideals.

The Iranian lawmaker also condemned Saudis� improper diplomatic behaviour, saying they are after reinforcing terrorist acts by supporting Al-Qaeda and ISIS terror groups.

Saudi Arabia, not only strengthen terrorism in the region, but bribe different countries to persuade them to act in their favour, he noted.

Although Iran denounces Saudi Arabia�s policy in supporting terrorists, it has some demands from the country to provide conditions for the presence of Iranian pilgrims in Hajj.

In September 2015, a deadly crush occurred during Hajj rituals in Mina, near Mecca. Days into the incident, Saudi Arabia published a death toll of 770 but refused to update it despite gradually surging fatality figures from individual countries whose nationals had been among the victims of the crush. Iran said about 4,700 people, including over 465 of its nationals, lost their lives in the incident.

Earlier in the same month, a massive construction crane had collapsed into Mecca�s Grand Mosque, killing more than 100 pilgrims, including 11 Iranians, and injuring over 200 others, among them 32 Iranian nationals.

Serious questions were raised about the competence of Saudi authorities to manage the Hajj rituals in the wake of the incidents, and, facing Saudi intransigence to cooperate and refusal to guarantee the safety of Iranian pilgrims, officials in the Islamic Republic subsequently decided to halt pilgrimages over security concerns.
