IRNA - The Iranian parliament approved an 8 percent growth rate for the country during the 6th Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2015-2020), it was reported on Monday.

Out of 228 lawmakers present during the Monday morning session of the Majlis, the bill won a yes from 173 legislators, while 10 voted against it and six abstained.

The 6th Five-Year Economic Development Plan's policies are based on three axes of �resistance economy�, �pioneering in science and technology�, and �cultural enhancement and reinforcement�.

The general policies are devised with respect to the existing realities both on the domestic and international scenes.
