November 29, The Iran Project � Head of Iran�s APA representative in�Cambodia�Seyyedeh�Fatemeh Zolghadr has said if Asian countries cooperate, not only the position of Asia, but also peace, security and development will be increased in the international arena.

Addressing the 9th Plenary Session of the ASIAN Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Cambodia on Tuesday, Fatemeh Zolghadr stated that undoubtedly, without peace and stability, there will be no grounds for sustainable development and lack of development and progress in various fields will lead to instability and insecurity.

Stressing the need for correct understanding of the origins and nature of crises in Asian countries, head of Iran�s APA representative referred to the foreign powers intervention in other countries� internal affairs as one the main reasons of the crises.

The emergence and spread of terrorist and extremist activities, such as ISIS, is the result of such interventionist policies, she noted.

The Iranian MP went on to say that US and other expansionist powers, to justify their interventions, claim that they are fighting terrorism, preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or supporting democracy while they are violating the most basic principles of international law, including independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries.

Cambodia is hosting the 9th�Plenary Session of the ASIAN Parliamentary Assembly (APA) from November 27th to December 2nd�in the cultural province of Siem Reap Angkor.

The Iranian delegation participating in the 9th Plenary session comprise MPs Ali Kazemi, Jalil Rahimi Jahan Abadi, Fatemeh Zolghadr, and Hajar Chenarani.
