IRNA - Technical inquiry is underway to determine the causes of train collision in the northern Semnan province, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi said on Friday.


The minister said that the high commission of disasters and emergencies held a meeting on Friday assigning respective organs to hold inquiry into the human disaster and determine the reasons for the train collision.

He said that 103 passengers and crew have been injured and some of the victims have been burned in fire caused by collision of two trains.

Trains destined from Tabriz-Mashad and Mashad-Semnan collided at Haftkhan station in Shahroud and Damqan on Friday morning.
