Speaker highlights Iran-France energy cooperation

 

TEHRAN, Sep 07 (Shana) -- Irans Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani has said Iran and France can enhance their ties in areas like the environment, new technologies, energy and petrochemical industries.

Larijani met with the visiting President of the French Parliaments National Assembly (lower house) Claude Bartolone onTuesday.

The two discussed the expansion of parliamentary relations between Tehran and Paris as well as regional and international developments.

Speaking at a joint press briefing after the meeting, Larijani described Iran-France relations as good and age-old, saying that the two countries share common views concerning the fight against terrorism and the resolution of current crises in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and other countries, PressTV reported.

Bartolone arrived in Tehran late on Monday at the invitation of Larijani.

During his stay in Iran, Bartolone will also meet with President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
