Kyrgyzstan interested in using Iran's anti-terrorism experiences

TEHRAN (FNA)- Senior Kyrgyz officials in meetings with Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Mahmoud Alavi called for using Tehran's experience in fighting against extremism and terrorism.

The issue was raised during meetings between Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security Abdil Segizbaev and Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs Jenish Razakov and Alavi in Bishkek on Tuesday night.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed mutual cooperation in fighting against extremism, terrorism and organized crimes in the region.

The Kyrgyz officials welcomed expansion of bilateral relations, and asked Tehran to share its experience with Bishkek in campaign against extremism and terrorism.

Earlier this year, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanayee had voiced his country's readiness to share its experiences with the member-states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the counterterrorism field.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its experience with SCO countries and cooperate with them more actively in forging security and stability in the region, Sanayee said.

He reiterated that extremism and terrorism were the crucial security problems both in the region and the world, and said, "There were concerns about growing influence of terrorism and extremism in the SCO member-states."

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a Eurasian intergovernmental organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The Organization currently has six members. Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, and India are observer states and SCOs dialogue partners include Belarus, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
