TEHRAN- Mohammad Sadeqzadeh, the managing director of Renewable Energy Organization of Iran, Known as SUNA, announced that the Islamic Republic will add renewable energy plants with the total generation capacity of 100 megawatts by the end of the current Iranian calendar year of 1395 (March 20, 2017).

Sadeqzadeh made the remarks on Tuesday addressing the 4th Iran Wind Energy Conference which was held in Tehran, IRIB news reported.

Addressing the audience in the same two-day conference, Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian underscored the development of the country�s energy sector in recent years and said that the post-sanctions era has presented a great opportunity for both domestic and foreign investors.

He added that Iran has put producing 5 GW of electricity from renewable sources in the next five years on its agenda. In this regard, the ministry welcomes foreign investors and offers its all-out support for them. �The ministry doesn�t have any problem regarding financing,� he said.

The 4th wind energy conference held on July 19-20 sought to cover the Iran�s new approach of wind development in international environment, moreover, to showcase its latest development in this industry and provide a chance for foreigners to discuss and compare Iranian wind market with that of the other developing countries and to investigate investment opportunities in the country.

Houshang Falahatian, the deputy energy minister; Jan Hylleberg, the CEO of the Danish Wind Industry Association; and Mustafa Serdar Ataseven, the president of the Turkish Wind Energy Association, also delivered speeches in the conference.
