Air France flights to boost Iran tourism

TEHRAN (FNA)- Air France Managing Director Frdric Gagey said the resumption of Air France flights to Tehran will lead to a remarkable increase in the number of French tourists in Iran.

Gagey told reporters on Monday that he has immensely been impressed by the sense of hospitality of his Iranian hosts since Sunday night when Air France resumed its first flight to Iran.

He highlighted the interest of French tourists in Irans rich culture and history, and said the new Air France flights will multiply the number of French tourists wishing to visit the country.

He further said many of the Airline's crew are happy to fly to Iran.

According to the official, Air France has planned three flights to Tehran for the time being and is going to offer 275 high-quality seat services to its customers.

Referring to a good record of cooperation between Iran and Air France, Gagey said the resumption of flights will further consolidate cultural interaction.

Saying that Iran enjoys a very exceptional status in terms of having historical and tourist sites, he said the country will be able to absorb a large number of European tourists.

Air France flights to Iran were cancelled in 2008 due to the US-led sanctions.

From now on, Air France flights will arrive at Tehrans Imam Khomeini International Airport on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 20:20, and will leave the following mornings at 9:15.

By resuming Air France, KLM and British Airways flights to Iran, the number of airways travelling to Iran hit 45.
