TEHRAN, Feb. 03 (MNA) � Thai FM Don Pramudwinai who is currently in Tehran for expanding economic cooperation says the two countries� ties have reached a new high.


Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai who is currently in Tehran with five other ministers and deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said that relations between Iran and Thailand are expanding further and high-ranking delegations have been exchanged between the two sides for holding talks on promoting cooperation.

He also announced the upcoming visit of Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Mohammad Reza�Nematzadeh�to Thailand, saying the visit aims to continue consultations with Thai minister of commerce.

The Thai senior diplomat also maintained that the two countries have signed a bilateral trade MoU in line with boosting the level of cooperation.

Tehran-Bangkok MoUs were signed on Tuesday by Iran�s vice president for executive affairs, Mohammad Shariatmadari, and Deputy PM Somkid Jatusripitak on various areas including commerce, nanotechnology, medicine and biotechnology, as well as science and standards.

Jatusripitak arrived in Tehran on Monday and held talks with Iranian senior officials Tuesday with an aim to expand trade and economic ties with the Islamic Republic.

Bangkok biznews on Wednesday quoted Pramudwinai as saying the two countries have also held talks on prisoner transfer.

The Thai delegation is comprised of 70 businessmen, industrialists, bankers and managers of small and medium-sized enterprises.
