Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA � Wives of Iranian diplomats held their 8th charity event here on Wednesday.

Vice President for women and family affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi attended the opening ceremony of the event.

She said she was attending the event to appreciate the sense of social responsibility these women have and their commitment to not staying indifferent to developments around them.

Given the specific characteristics of the Iranian society, she said women should prepare for remarkable presence in the two upcoming major elections.
