Commander of Army Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said on Wednesday that Iranian military doctrine is defensive.

Addressing the Eighth Congress of Armed Forces Dentistry at Olympic Hotel in Tehran, he said that the armed forces should stand by the people so strong the people feel calm.'Armed forces have nothing to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and post- JCPOA and pursue their path of progress.

We will promote military power for deterrence against the enemies,' he said, noting, 'If the enemy is to deal a blow to us, the blow it will receive will be by far harder.'The commander clarified that in addition to military activities taking place on the guidelines of the Supreme Leader, the armed forces consider themselves servant of people.
