BEIJING (Sputnik) On January 19-23, Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected tovisit Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt tomeet the leadership ofthese countries and todiscuss economic and political cooperation.
"Iran is a friendly country forChina. Energy cooperation is an essential component ofbilateral cooperation China will continue todevelop cooperation withIran inthe sphere ofenergy and will support the participation ofChinese companies indifferent energy projects inIran," Zhang told reporters.
He added that the visit would have a huge impact onChinese-Iranian relations and both sides were expected tomake this visit a landmark intheir relations.
Xi's visit is expected tobe the first visit ofChinese leader toIran in14 years.
