'Big powers should be committed to non-proliferation of WMDs'

Tehran, Jan 13, IRNA Iran' Foreign Ministry spokesman, in a meeting with the ambassador of Democratic People's Republic of Korea, reiterated that the Islamic Republic sticks to its principled stance on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Hossein Jaberi Ansari on Wednesday told the DPRK newly-appointed Ambassador Kang Sam Hyon, about Iran's principled stance of banning the development, production, stockpiling and use of weapons of mass destruction.

Big powers of the world should be committed to the non-proliferation of the nuclear arms, Jaberi Ansari added.

Referring to Tehran-Pyongyang cordial relations, the foreign ministry spokesman also said: 'Based on its consistent policy, the Islamic Republic is against foreign intervention and the use of military threat to destabilize independent nations,' he said.
