TEHRAN (FNA)- An Iranian Air Force fighter jet crashed in an area Southeast of the country at around midday, witnesses said, adding that both pilots have died in the incident.

Local sources told FNA that the fighter jet crashed in the port city of Konarak in Sistan and Balouchestan province in Southeastern Iran.

Early reports quoted eye-witnesses as saying that both the pilot and copilot have died in the incident.

Army officials have confirmed the crash, but said they would reveal the details of the incident later.
