A police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said at least two civilians were killed and seven others sustained injuries when a bomb went offclose to a popular market in Baghdads western neighborhood of al-Forat on Saturday, Arabic-language al-Baghdadia satellite television network reported.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the site of the attack, and ambulanceworkersferriedthe wounded to a nearby hospital.
Unknown armed men also stormed a security checkpoint in the town ofYusufiyah, situated 40kilometers(24 miles) south of Baghdad, killing two police officers and a civilian passerby.
Additionally, a civilian was killed and six others injured, when a bomb detonated near a busy market in inBaghdad'seastern neighborhood ofal-Mashtal on Tuesday.
Elsewhere in the al-Arifiyah district of southern Baghdad, a roadside bombing attack claimed one civilian life and left four others injured.
Earlier on Saturday, a roadside bomb explodedinHurneighborhoodof southernBaghdad, leaving one policeman dead and three others injured.
Another policeman was also gunned down in Baghdads southern neighborhood of Dora, when unidentified assailants launched an attack inArab Jubur area south ofBaghdad.
Moreover, six civilians were injured when two separate bombs exploded in Baghdads central district of Karrada and in theHabibiyah districtofeastern Baghdad.

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq says a total of 714 Iraqis were killed and another 1,269wounded in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in October alone.
According to the UN mission, the number of civilian fatalities stood at 559. Violence also claimed the lives of 155members of the Iraqi security forces. A great portion of the fatalities was recorded in Baghdad, where 298civilians were killed.
The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by violence ever since Daesh Takfiri militants began their march through the Iraqi territory in June 2014.
Army soldiers and Popular Mobilization units have joined forces and are seeking to take back militant-held regions in joint operations.
