Hamedan, Oct 10, IRNA � Chairman of the Experts Assembly Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi issued a statement on Saturday condoling the martyrdom of Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani by Daesh terrorists in Syria.

Ayatollah Yazdi expressed his condolences to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the family of the martyred general.

The Ayatollah prayed to God for the soul of Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani to rest in peace and wished patience for his family and his fellow soldiers.

General Hamedani, a veteran IRGC commander during the Saddam-imposed war (1980-88), was martyred when he was serving as military advisor to the Syrian government in the vicinity of the Syrian city of Aleppo on Thursday evening.
