The Islamic Republic aims to prepare and submit the plan of action to the UNGA in a bid to implement the World Against Extremism and Violence (WAVE) resolution, said Iranian Foreign Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with UNGA President Mogens Lykketoft in New York on Wednesday.
The Iranian foreign minister said fighting terrorism is priority of the Islamic Republic.
In December 2013, the UNGA overwhelmingly voted to approve President Rouhanis WAVE proposal, which called on all nations across the globe to denounce violence and extremism. The Iranian president had made the proposal in his address to the UN Disarmament Conference in New York on September 25, 2013.
To solve Syria crisis, no player should be excluded
In his Wednesday remarks, Zarif also touched upon the deadly conflict in Syria, saying a political solution is the only way out of the crisis in the Arab country.

(Photo by AFP)[/caption]The Islamic Republic of Iran has proposed a plan in this regard, which, if accepted by the involved players, can hopefully resolve the conflict, he said.
Irans top diplomat further warned that excluding any of the regional players can only delay the process of settling the conflict in the war-ravaged country.
Tehran would not like to exclude any government or player from the peace process in the region, Zarif stressed.
Syria has been grappling with a foreign-backed militancy since 2011. The Takfiri militants, who currently control areas across Syria as well as northern and western Iraq, have been carrying out horrific acts of violence, including public decapitations, against Iraqi and Syrian communities.
According to reports, the violence has so far claimed more than 240,000 lives in Syria alone.
