Tehran, Sept 9, IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that elections is manifestation of trust and symbol of religious democracy in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with a large group of people from all walks of life in Tehran on Wednesday.

For the same reason, elections over the past 37 years have been held without any delays even for one day although some ill-wishing politicians tried to obstruct polling but to no avail, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Referring to round the clock media hype by the US and its allies against sound elections in Iran, the Supreme Leader said they never made any objection to showoff elections held under Pahlavy dynasty but they are opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran which holds democratic elections.

Elections in Iran are in conformity with the international laws, being regarded as the safest and best elections in the world but some ill-wishers inside the country try to harm the sound elections and always talk about vote rigging and cast doubt about soundness of elections in the country, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated.

Mass and active presence of people in the country's elections over the past three decades indicate their trust in the system, said the Supreme Leader adding that 'Why are certain people trying to create fabricated and unfounded concerns to shatter people trust?'

Guardian Council is among blessing of the Islamic Revolution which monitors and supervise all elections-related affairs along with other relevant organizations, said the Supreme Leader.

There were some ambiguities surrounding some elections, but investigations proved that the reality was something else, said Ayatollah Khamenei.

All should spare no efforts to protect and defend the country's election procedures, said the Supreme Leader.

The key role of the Guardians Council in elections is supervisory and effective, underlined the Supreme Leader.

Active participation of people in elections will protect the country, said the Supreme Leader adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran by relying on unity and solidarity and avoiding any rifts will attain victory over enemies.

The Islamic Revolution put an end to the illegitimate interests of the US in Iran and this is root-cause of its enmity to the Iranian nation, said the Supreme Leader.

Late Imam Khomeni labeled the US as 'Great Satan' which is very meaningful, said the Supreme Leader.

Satan is the symbol of all wrongdoings in the world but the main duties of Satan is to deceive and tempt man but the US is now involved in similar wrongdoings such as massace, imposition of sanctions and promotion of deceit and hypocrisy.

The Supreme Leader also slammed those trying to depict the US as a salvation angel and asked who have let them add make up to the US in a way that it looks like a trustworthy friend.

US enmity towards the Iranian nation is eternal, the Supreme Leader warned, adding that immediately after nuclear deal between Iran and G5+1 the US Congress tried to obstruct the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

'We should take such strong action to disappoint the enemies,' said the Supreme Leader.

To strengthen the nation's strength, the Supreme Leader called for employing 'a powerful economy of resistance' and 'advanced scientific knowledge' and promotion of a revolutionary spirit among the youth.'

The enemies try to shatter the revolutionary sprit of the Iranian youths with some people inside the country humiliating them as extremists which is totally wrong, said the Supreme Leader.

The US administration has adopted a double standard policy on Iran with some Americans smiling at Iran and some others trying to have anti-Iran bill ratified, the Supreme Leader noted.
