Zarif: South Africa can be Iran
Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that South Africa can be major trade partner for Iran.


Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with South African Deputy Foreign Minister Nomaindia Mfeketo on a visit to Tehran heading high ranking politico-economic delegation from South Africa.
The South African delegation have come to Iran to partake in the sixth Iran-South Africa political commission.
Zarif described Iran-South African relations 'excellent' and beyond political and economic relations.
Iran and South Africa have very special relations at the economic sector but the country could be regarded as the biggest trade partner for Iran, Zarif said.
Terrorist groups in the African continent are now regarded as a potential threat to the regional and global peace and security and fight with extremism is a prominent issue for cooperation between Iran and South Africa, Zarif said.
South African Deputy Foreign Minister Nomaindia Mfeketo for her part congratulated the nuclear deal between Iran and G5+1 and said South Africa remains Iran's friend for ever and in all ups and downs.
She described her visit to Iran as very positive and expressed the hope that the achievements gained during her visit would help develop all-out relations between the two countries.
South African deputy ministers of energy, security and finance are accompanying the South African deputy foreign minister and the high ranking delegation.
