Tehran, Aug 23, IRNA - University of Tehran has been placed among 300 top universities in Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).

In the recent ranking released by ARWU, University of Tehran ranks 201-300 among world universities, the university website reported on Saturday.
The ARWU ranking system is one of the most creditable international rankings.

Some standards considered by this system are number of graduates and professors with Nobel Prize or other important prizes, number of highly cited researchers recognized by Thompson Reuters, number of articles published in Science and Nature journals, number of articles published in Science Index and Social Science Index, the annual academic performance, number of students and professors and physical space.

In other words, alumni, award, HiCi, Nand S, PUB, and PCP are the main standards of this ranking system.

University of Tehran ranks first at national level and ranks 201-300 in the world, while in the thematic ranking, its Engineering and Technical Faculty ranks 51-75.
