Larijani explains Iran strategy about settlement of nuclear dispute

Shiraz, August 20, IRNA Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Thursday that Iran pursued nuclear talks with an explicit understanding and strategy to ensure the nuclear rights and get recognition of the right for research and development in nuclear technology.

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with local officials at Shiraz administrative council.
The Islamic Republic of Iran made the right choice to go ahead with nuclear talks under the current circumstances despite differences of opinion among the country's intellectuals, he said.
A special committee has been formed in Majlis to examine the nuclear deal struck on July 14 to remove probable ambiguities and speed up pace of development in the country, he said.
Nuclear deal did not surprise us as it took about two years, Larijani said.
Every clause of the nuclear deal has been discussed and composed with care in view of the national interests, he said.
Dispute with the west on Iran's nuclear program had technical, legal, political and economic aspects and the Iranian nuclear negotiators fully observed these points, Larijani said.
Elimination of sanctions was a very significant job, he said adding that continued economic sanctions was not a privilege for us but it was a hurdle which should have been lifted and the UN resolution 2231 put an end to all previous resolutions on July 20, 2015. It should be regarded as a big achievement.
UNSC resolutions had made a very risky situation for investment in Iran and reduced number of investors and exertion of more red tapes in carrying out international transactions with Iran, he said.
UNSC resolution 2231 eased international situation and changed the world approach toward Iran urging the Zionist regime to spend more money to persuade the US congress to disapprove the nuclear deal, Larijani said.
Iran with its special outstanding geopolitical status, widescale human and natural resources, is ready for a big jump, he said.
