Ahl-ul-Bayt Assembly supports Leader's message to western youth

Tehran, August 18, IRNA - The 6th General Assembly of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly closed here on Tuesday with a positive note regarding Supreme Leader's message to the youth in Europe and US calling it the manfiest of fight against global arrogance.

In a final declaration, participants of the assembly said, Leader's message which was issued last year is an ever-lasting roadmap for interaction with other religions and for encountering hegemony of foreign media.
The declaration stressed on solidarity among Shia Muslims as stipulated by the followers of the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and on the role of mosques, supreme jurisprudent and seminaries as centers of safeguarding Islam worldwide.
Prior to the closing of the assembly, government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht in a speech said the Islamic World faces challenges as there are attempts to undermine pure Islam by fabrication of violent and merciless Takfiri and terrorist groups.
He said there were also attempts to induce that Shia school of Islam cannot establish an Islamic government, which was why Iran was attacked by Saddam and its officials and statesmen were assassinated.
Even after the Saddam-imposed war, Nobakth added, Iran was under oppressive sanctions but the Iranian nation stood for its nuclear rights and defused all the sanctions through negotiations with world powers.
He said the government of President Hassan Rouhani took a practical step in proving the peaceful nature of Islam when he proposed the idea of the World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) at the UN General Assembly in 2014.
The conference also commemorated dignitaries from the Islamic countries who have contributed to promition of Shia culture.
