Iran invites Italy to participate in oil and petrochem projects

Tehran, Aug 5, IRNA Oil Minister said that Italian firms had already participated in the construction of petrochemical units and they have been granted licenses, so in this negotiation; we invited them to participate in new move of petrochemical industry.

After meeting with am visiting Italian delegation on Wednesday afternoon, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said that in the meeting, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi and CEO of Italian oil and gas Company Eni, Claudio Descalzi and Italian high ranking economic delegation were attending.

He said that we discussed in the three fields, including issues was oil field.

Italian companies had already a successful participation in Iran's energy fields like south pars and Darkhovein oil field.

Italian refineries had already received crude oil from us, which was ceased during sanction, but now by cancellation of the sanctions, it will be resumed again.

'We also negotiated about petrochemical industry and asked them to attend new move in this industry,' he added.

Zanganeh said that Iran invited Italian companies to participate in field of manufacturing necessary equipment of oil industry and cooperate with Iranian companies in this field and with aim to sell them in Iran's market or markets of the region.

The minister said that the two sides reached agreement on essentials and added that such meetings are a green light by governments to companies.
