The United States has presented a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council that would endorse the Iran nuclear agreement and remove all international sanctions against Tehran �related to its nuclear energy program.

The resolution, circulated on Wednesday to the Security Council by US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power, is likely to be passed without any opposition, as the five veto-holding council members � the United States, Britain, China, France and Russia� are all parties to the nuclear accord reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries on Tuesday in Vienna, Austria.

Ambassador Power had said the United States would submit the draft resolution on behalf of the P5+1 group of countries and the European Union.

According to UN diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Power briefed the 15-member Security Council on the draft document behind closed doors.

After 18 days of talks in Vienna on Tuesday, Iran and the P5+1 group - the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany - reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which will put limits on Iran�s nuclear program in exchange for the removal of sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

According to the JCPOA text, Iran will be recognized by the United Nations as a nuclear power and will continue its uranium enrichment program.

"Next week the UN Security Council will recognize the enrichment program of a developing country," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said upon arrival at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport on Wednesday.

"Our measures will start when all sanctions are lifted. We hope that more or less within four months measures taken by both sides show results and implementation of the deal begins,� he added.

Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin said the draft resolution presented to the Security Council is �one of the most complicated, imaginative and interesting draft resolutions the Security Council has ever considered."

He added that the 10 elected Security Council members, who were not part of the nuclear negotiations in Vienna, will be given proper time to review and understand the text.
