TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham on Tuesday denounced the recent terrorist attacks outside a police headquarters in the Chadian capital of N'Djamena, which claimed the lives of at least 27 and injured more than a hundred people.

Afkham condemned the suicide attacks and expressed sympathy with the Chadian government, nation, and the bereaved families of the victims.

She also reiterated Iran�s principled policy of rejecting violence, extremism, and terrorism, and urged all countries to increase their efforts against the inhumane phenomenon.

Suicide bombers killed at least 27 people in N'Djamena on Monday in what appeared to be retaliation by Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram for Chad's leading role in a regional offensive against it.

At least 100 people were injured in two simultaneous attacks on a police headquarters and training school. It was the first strike of its kind in the central African nation.

The government, which said that four Boko Haram terrorists were among the 27 dead, announced a raft of measures to tighten security in the capital.

Chad, whose oil revenues have helped it emerge as a military heavyweight in the region, has been a driving force behind a campaign that has inflicted a series of defeats on Boko Haram since January.
