The jury of Irans press court has removed ban on the Iranian daily,Sharq, and found its manager Mehdi Rahmanian not guilty of publishingfalse material.Following its session on December 23, the jury of the Iranian presscourt also acquited Sharq newspaper of the allegation of insultingIranian forces who fought during the eight-year of imposed war by Iraqagainst Iran.
Irans supervisory board for the media voted on September 26 to closethe Sharq newspaper for publishing a cartoon thought to be insulting
the forces of imposed war. Rahmanian was also arrested andsent to Evin Prison.
Rahmanian said in an interview with Mehr News Agency that thenewspaper would be published in near future.
