Tehran, April 10, IRNA - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has pardoned and commuted prison terms of several women inmates on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazart Fatima-Zahra (SA) and Mother's Day.

The decision, announced on Friday, was in response to a request by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani.

According to Article 110 of the Constitution, the Supreme Leader has the authority to pardon or commute prison terms of convicts upon a recommendation from the head of the Judiciary.
