Iraqi PM: Final victory in Tikrit is imminent

Tehran, March 31, IRNA Iraq Prime Minister Haider al-Ibadi said Tikrit will be liberated from terrorist group of ISIL very soon and after that Al-Anbar and Mosul will be set free.




Al-Ibadi was talking to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Baghdad on Monday.

According to Sumaria News Website, Al-Ibadi told his visitor that Iraqi forces are doing the last operations in the province of Salaheddin and the final victory in this province, which is accssible, will be announced very soon.

He said terrorists have brought massacre, destruction, and corruption for Iraqi people.

Ban arrived in Baghdad on Monday and had separate meetings with Iraqi President Fouad Massoum, Prime Minister al-Ibadi and Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jaboori.

In his meeting with al-Jaboori, Ban stressed on UN support for Iraq in its struggle against the terrorists.

UN Secretary General said national reconcilation in Iraq is laudable and can lead to stability and progress in this country.

Ban also met with leaders of some Iraqi political parties.

Iraqi army has launched big operations to liberate parts of the country which have been occupied by ISIL terrorists.

In these opeartions, important areas of Salaheddin Province in the north of Iraq have been liberated so far.
