US Department of State spokesperson Jen Psaki renounced allegations over the US Congress reliance on Israeli intelligence in the Iran nuclear deal.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) The US Department ofState briefs the Congress onthe nuclear talks withIran, and the suggestion that US lawmakers rely onIsraeli intelligence regarding the talks is absurd, Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said onTuesday.

Its an absurd notion that Congress would have torely onany foreign government togain insight intothe nuclear negotiations withIran, Psaki stated. We have conducted more than230 meetings, hearings and calls withSenate and House members and their staffs onIran.

Psaki noted that the State Department offered tobrief the Congress this week.

Earlier onTuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Israel spied onthe world powers' nuclear talks withIran, and used the information tourge the US lawmakers' tooppose a nuclear deal withTehran.

Israel dismissed the report and called the allegations utterly false.

Earlier inMarch 2015, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the US Congress, and warned lawmakers that any concessions toIran would undermine peace inthe Middle East.

Last week, Iran and the six major world powers Britain, France, China, Russia, the United States and Germany held another roundof negotiations onTehran's controversial nuclear program. The talks are expected tocontinue onMarch 25.
