Madrid, March 12, IRNA - A Spanish scholar said here on Thursday that the US has come to the negotiating table only because Washington is certain its anti-Iran sanctions have long failed.

Yusuf Fernandez, the secretary of the Muslim Federation of Spain, made the remarks in a conference on 'Iran Foreign Policy' in Madrid.

Fernandez underscored that now Iran's nuclear tops the news of world media outlets.

The Zionist regime keeps trying to create tension between Iran and US, he added.

The Spanish scholar went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran is continuing its nuclear program amid the pressures and terrorst actions against its scientists.

He further underlined that the policy of imposing sanctions against Iran has already failed.

Now the US has come to understand that it could not overcome the terrorist group of Daesh without the assistance of Iran, the Spanish scholar added.

Fernandez concluded that the Western countries are well aware that Iran is a powerful and influential country that cannot be ignored.
