Iran's FM Zarif meets India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in Tehran on February 10, 2015.[/caption]TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined on Tuesday that the nuclear talks between Tehran and the world powers will end in a final agreement if the western powers stop seeking excuses and reciprocate Iran's goodwill measures.
"Iran has entered the negotiations with good will and strong determination and it emphasizes on its logical principles and criteria and if the other side also takes goodwill measures we can strike a (final) deal," Zarif said in a meeting with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval in Tehran on Tuesday.
He reiterated that Tehran has taken all the necessary actions for the success of the nuclear talks with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany), and said now it is the world powers' turn to do so.
The Iranian foreign minister further pointed to the bilateral relations between Tehran and New Delhi, and said, "Development of Chabahar port as a strategic point is of paramount importance to Iran, Afghanistan, India and Central Asia, and the two countries are needed to cooperate on developing the port."
The Indian national security advisor, for his part, pointed to the importance of the development of Chabahar port's infrastructures and its benefits for the regional countries, and said, "In addition to cooperation in Chabahar port, India is also interested in cooperation with Iran in the energy and industry sectors."
He also underlined the need for widening the two nations' cooperation in fighting extremism and terrorism.
Addressing a meeting with the commanders and personnel of the Iranian Air Force and Air Defense in Tehran on Sunday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei complained that the behavior of the Americans and their European allies in the negotiations is illogical as they expect all their excessive demands to be met, "but this is not the way of negotiation".
Ayatollah Khamenei approved of the Iranian officials' standing up to the other side's excessive demands, and said, "The Islamic ruling system acts on a logical basis in the nuclear talks, but the other side has no logic and is pursuing irrationality by relying on bullying."
The Supreme Leader reiterated that the Iranian nation will not tolerate bullying, excessive demands and illogical behavior.
Earlier today, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underscored that Tehran has taken all the necessary actions for the success of the nuclear talks with the G5+1 and it is now the world powers' turn to reciprocate Tehran's goodwill measures if they really mean to resolve the standoff.
"Iran is pursuing the nuclear negotiations seriously and at present good progress has been made although we are away from a final agreement. Iran has taken the necessary steps and now it is the other side's turn to seize the opportunity," Rouhani said in a meeting with Indian National Security Adviser in Tehran.
The 10th round of negotiations between Iran and the six world powers was held in Vienna from November 18 to 24, where the seven nations decided to extend the talks until July after they failed to strike an agreement. The seven nations continued their talks in February.
Both Iran and the G5+1 negotiators have underlined that cutting a final deal before the July 10 deadline is possible.
