Spain seeking investment in Iran

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Spain has officially announced that it is willing to work with Iranian companies and fund projects in the country, said Head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Yahya Al-Eshagh, reiterating that Spanish market could act as Iranian economy supplementary.
Spanish government and its private sector have expressed their resolve to expand economic ties with Iran, he said, adding they have officially announced that they are after investigation in Iran and working with Iranian companies and firms.

Iran and Spain have had bilateral historical relations for about 6 centuries and Spain opened its embassy in Iran 100 years ago, he said.

Iran and Spain can work on different economic domains, he said, adding Spain holds good potentials on transportation, auto-industry, foodstuff and medicine industries as well agricultural research and scientific, technological and petrochemistry studies.

The two countries can work on medium and small industries.

Al-Eshagh also said that Iran and Spain inked three joint Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and discussed ways for boosting banking ties during his travel to three Spanish provinces.
