Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA � An informed source in Foreign Ministry said there has been no new development in the issue of opening embassies in Tehran and London.
Talking to IRNA reporter on Friday evening, the official was reacting to a statement of a Majlis deputy who had already said the British embassy would be reopened in Tehran by March 21, 2015.
The official stressed that both non-resident charges d'affaires are shuttling between the two countries and Iran's non-resident charge d'affaires Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh is now in London.

He said talks between the two countries continue, adding that British charge

d'affaires will come to Tehran soon.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Marziyeh Afkham told reporters on Wednesday that the work on opening the two embassies is being done step by step and it should move forward stage by stage.

On the transfer of British embassy equipment, she said Iran is looking into the issue upon its own domestic regulations and of course Iran is committed to Vienna Convention, too.

She continued there is no difference between countries which have embassy and representative officees in Iran, adding that we have responsibility to prepare normal and natural situation for activity of all countries which have representative offices in Iran.

Majlis (parliament) deputies passed a bill to downgrade relations with Britain 4 years ago, but the governmet of President Hassan Rouhani has adopted a policy of interaction with the world and consultations between the two sides are in progress to begin bilateral relations.

The ties between Iran and Britain are now in the level of non-resident charge d'affaires.
