TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Sepahan football team moved up to the second place in the Iran Professional League(IPL) with a 2-1 victory over Paykan on Thursday.Ehsan Hajsafi put the visiting team into the lead just after three minutes but Paykan defender Mohammad Nosrati equalized the match from the penalty spot just before the interval.
With seven minutes remaining, Mehdi Sharifi was on target for the Isfahan-based football team.
Elsewhere, Saipa edged struggling Naft Masjed Soleyman thanks to Hakim Nassaris 2nd minute goal.
Gostaresh Foolad drew 2-2 with Esteghlal Khuzestan. Mohammad Ebrahimi and Leonardo Pimenta scored for Gostaresh in the 23rd and 61st minutes and Mehdi Seyedsalehi (48) and Meysam Majidi (70) scored for visiting Esteghlal Khuzestan.
Sepahan moved up to the second place with 30 points behind leader Naft on goal difference.
