Al-Qaida claims responsibility for attack on Iran
Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA Al-Qaida branch in Yemen claimed responsibility for Wednesday morning blast in front of Iran's ambassador residence in Sana'a, capital of Yemen.
News sources reported on Wednesday evening that al-Qaida published a statement in its twitter account and claimed the attack.
Explosion of a bomb in front of Iran's ambassador's residence in Sana'a killed a guard of the embassy and one kid, but the ambassador and employees of the embassy were not hurt.

According to reports, Ambassador Hossein Niknam was not in the place when the blast occurred.

Part of the building has been damaged because of the explosion.

Following the explosion in Sana'a, Yemeni charge d'affaires in Tehran was summoned to Foreign Ministry later in the day.

According to the department of media diplomacy of Foreign Ministry, Foreign Ministry official conveyed Iran's strong protest to the Yemeni government over the failure of the government of Sana'a to efficiently protect diplomatic missions of Iran in Yemen.

The Foreign Ministry urged the Yemeni government to take immediate action to bring to justice the terrorists responsible for the attacks and sought assurances from Sana'a government that such acts of terror would never happen again.

The Yemeni charge d'affaires, for his part, expressed regret over the terrorist action and said he would immediately communicate the Iranian protest and demand to Sana'a government.
