Tehran, Nov 2, IRNA - Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Sunday called for punishment of acid attackers.
He made the remarks in a mourning ceremony of Moharram al-Haram.
Rafsanjani said that the security forces are expected to bring to justice the culprits responsible for acid attacks in the Central city of Isfahan.

Rafsanjani condemned the "inhuman acts" and expressed sympathy with the victims.

President Hassan Rouhani has already tasked the ministries of the interior, intelligence and justice with launching an investigation into the acid attacks.

Iran's Judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei has vowed that the individuals responsible for the acid attacks on women in Isfahan will be brought to justice.

The acid attacks against at least four women took place in Isfahan two weeks ago.
