6 killed in new US-led airstrikes in Afghanistan
At least six people have been killed in fresh US-led airstrikes in Afghanistans central province of Maidan Wardak.
Afghan officials say two drones targeted areas in the town of Chak with missiles on Sunday. Several people were also injured in the attacks.

In separate attacks, American Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) also pounded the eastern Nangarhar and southern Helmand provinces, leaving over 25 people dead.

The United States carries out targeted killings with drone strikes in several Muslim countries such as Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia. Washington claims the targets of the drone attacks are militants, but civilians have been the main victims over the past few years.

The Afghan people and the countrys officials have protested the civilian casualties on numerous occasions, but Washington continues the drone attacks.

The United Nations and several human rights organizations have identified the US as the worlds number one user of targeted killings, largely due to its drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
