Palestinian negotiators have warned that they will quit the talks in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, if Israeli negotiators do not show up for the meeting.
Negotiations to halt the Israeli offensive on Gaza are expected to resume on Sunday in Cairo, where a Palestinian delegation and Egyptian mediators are waiting for an Israeli team, which has reportedly set conditions for attending the talks.

An Israeli official has said that the talks cannot be held until Palestinian resistance fighters stop firing retaliatory rockets into Israel.

Azzam al-Ahmed, the head of the Palestinian team, said they would leave Cairo if the Israeli delegation decided not to take part in the meeting. One Palestinian official even set a 1300 GMT deadline.
�We have a meeting tomorrow (Sunday) with Egyptian (mediators). If we confirm that the Israeli delegation is placing conditions for its return, we will not accept any conditions,� Ahmed added.
Deputy Chairman of Hamas Political Bureau Mussa Abu Marzuq said the Tel Aviv regime �is stalling and the next 24 hours will decide the fate of the negotiations.�
�We will not hold talks for a long time without serious discussions,� he said, adding, �We do not want an escalation, but we will not accept that there is no reply to our demands.�
The talks broke down on Friday after Hamas said Israel had not responded to any of the Palestinian demands at the negotiations.

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip began on July 8. According to Palestinian health officials, the overall Palestinian death toll from the brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has reached 1,917, with most of the fatalities being civilians. Nearly 10,000 others have been wounded in the attacks.
