Iranian-built sensor prevents heart attacks, brain strokes

Iranian-built sensor prevents heart attacks, brain strokes
TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researches have designed and produced electrochemical biosensor by means of an electromagnetic nano-composite, sensitive to hydrogen peroxide.
Heart failure increases hydrogen peroxide in body textures which damages inner lining of the arteries and leads to blood clotting, heart attacks and brain strokes.

Development of an easy and swift method for diagnosis of the material's density is necessary for preventing the disease. The device has been developed by researchers in two universities of Sabzevar, northeastern Iran, and Mazandaran, northern Iran.

An electrochemical sensor is made up of iron oxide magnetic nano-particles and poly eruption which are useful for measuring hydrogen peroxide in body textures and biological fluids.

Side effects including low conductivity, low thermal sustainability of poly eruption have disappeared in the device.

High compatibility, good selectivity, low cost and none-destruction are some advantages of the sensor.

The results of the study have been published in Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical Journal.
